In 1989, Discount Optical expanded its optical laboratory to include the latest state of the art lens manufacturing equipment. This expansion allowed them to provide their customers with "one hour service" on eyeglasses. Balbir wanted to ensure that his customers could start seeing clear with a new pair of glasses on the same day.
